February continues the cold and wet pattern
It's been an interesting year. My recovery from the the broken wrist was longer than I expected. I guess at my age you do not heal as fast as a 20 something ;-) Even as I write this post (11/19/19) I still have some residual discomfort in the wrist and only ~80% of the strength has returned. Turns out the bone fracture healed relatively fast, but the tendon and ligaments seem to take forever.
The early arrival of winter to my area sure has cut down outdoor riding. We got 11" of snow on Veterans Day followed by sub zero temps. A week later the temps have moderated and much of the snow has melted.
I was able to get a brief road ride in after the snow on the hard surface roads as the gravel roads are still ice and mud.
In October I started my training again at PowerCycling ( https://w ww.powercyclingusa.com/). The owner Marc got me into very good shape last fall and he is ramping up my conditioning again this year. With PowerCycling, Zwift riding, and outdoor rides weather permitting, along with my swimming, I should be in good shape for the C2C ride.
Below is the itinerary for this year's ride. One variation from the 2019 itinerary is the day that would have ended in Comstock, TX. The overnight campground is not available this year; so instead of a ~80 mile day it will now be a 118 mile day with the following day shorten to ~35 miles.
