ALCAN 2024 Days 7-8 (Glacier National Park/Canada)

July 12-13
~220 +/- miles
This was the most spectacular day so far. Most of the day was spent driving the "Going to the Sun" road in Glacier National Park. Then we drove to our overnight location of Rexford Bench campground in the Kootenai National Forest, on Lake Koocanusa. Started in the prairie, crossed the 3 way continental divide. Cool with a strong headwind (that sucked for gas mileage), somewhat cool in the alpine and HOT at the campground (90+). Zac is doing well, he just needs to get out of the truck every couple of hours.
From Rexford Bench we made the short drive to the border, customs went well. Then it was on our 2 day layover at KOA in Cranbrook, BC. HOT HOT HOT 95 + 🔥 🔥 🔥 Stocked up on groceries and liquor and set up camp at the KOA. Laundry and showers tomorrow and then sit in the shade and watch the Fever game ⛹️

Addendum: sit in the heat under our batwing awning we see a telephone pole with an Eagles nest which at least on juvenile in it; maybe pictures later
