ALCAN Day 28 Whitter, Bertha Creek

August 2, 2024 ~115 miles

This day we drove to Bertha Creek Campground (USFS). This was mostly an uneventful drive. We had to drive through Anchorage (welcome back to civilization), but the highlight was going to Whitter. To do this you have to go through a 2+mile one lane tunnel (shared by both cars and trains)  to this WWII created town. Not much there except a lot of personal fishing boats (these are open water boats). We had some lunch then on to our campsite for the night.
Bertha was the name of my 10 Brittanys ( I inherited her from my brother when he moved to Dixie.
