ALCAN Day 38 French Creek CG in the BC

August 12, 2024 292km/180 miles.

This was mostly a travel day and the first and only time we will backtrack on the ALCAN. Most of the drive was backtracking the ALCAN until we reached the Cassiar Hwy.  Just before we turned into the Cassiar we stop at a roadhouse which had a signing board for cyclists ( bicycle that is) that had passed through this year; maybe 100-200 names.
The Cassiar is the road less traveled and much of it was a recent burn. Tonight we are staying at a BC forest service site ( French Creek) at the confluence of French Creek and the Dease River.

one of three or four cycling sign up boards .
