ALCAN Day 35 Dawson City

August 9, 2024. 300km/188miles
Last night I had to do the dishes; of course. Now it's back to normal daily duties 😎. This has been an over a month's long journey, now it's time to return to civilization πŸ˜‰. We hope to to return to Alaska sometime in the next few years, but we will see where our travels take us.
Drove from Tok to Dawson City. Interesting drive; started on generally good road and deteriorated from there. Got to Chicken and had some cherry pie and walked Zac around the exhibits of mining equipment. Then it was on to the border; Canadian customs took less than a couple of minutes. Now we started the Top of the World Hwy. You drive on the ridge of the mountains; spectacular views!!!
Then came the clouds. We were driving in the clouds with almost no visibility. Finally we came out of the clouds into the Yukon valley and took the government free ferry to Dawson City (Canadians believe in paying for good infrastructure). Dawson City is interesting, but we got caught in a rain storm and got soaked.
We spent the night at an in-town RV park---- laundry and showers.
